Closing Tips

3/1/2024

We’ve all been there. You have clients that need life insurance but you’ve been unable to move the process forward and ultimately issue the policy.

Here are some quick tips and reminders that might help:

  • Highlight the Need: Does your client clearly understand the “why” of pursuing life insurance?
  • Mind the Budget: Was a comfortable budget established, has anything changed?
  • Educate: Review the differences between term and permanent life insurance and highlight how each product addresses your client’s needs.
  • Revisit Health: Has your client’s health changed or were there details that might have been missed in initial conversations? Your client may be hesitant to apply if concerned about how their health will impact the outcome.
  • Just Get Started: Is your client ready to apply but delaying the application because of indecision about the product or face amount? Encourage your client to just start the process.
  • Set Proper Expectations: Make sure to set proper expectations about the process and the time required for the insurance company to underwrite the application. This may be the first time your client has tried to qualify for life insurance and it is a unique experience!

Use these tips to complete the life insurance application process and get your clients the life insurance they need.
